Talking about waterfowl: there were some very interesting ones around, yet again.

I am pretty sure this is a pair of Aix galericulata or mandarin duck or Mandarinente. She followed him faithfully around the lake, never letting get ahead more than a meter or so. Must be love.

This is a camera shy Aythya fuligula or tufted duck or Reiherente:

I haven't found out which name the next fellow answers to, but I think he must be some kind of Podicipedidae or grebe or Lappentaucher

Towards the end of my run the sun came out and there was a beautiful warm light in the forest, that is hard to capture on film.
